About Me

Courtney Sisk is a Reporter at WISN 12 News in Milwaukee Wisconsin, where she works to break the biggest news at the number one station in a top market.  Courtney is aggressive in the field during breaking news situations. She is experienced in reporting live on location daily. She knows what it takes to pitch enterprise stories exclusive to the station to keep the community informed.

Prior to joining the WISN team, Courtney was an anchor and multimedia journalist at WIFR, 23 News in Rockford, IL. She created on-air and web content for the 5, 6 and 10 p.m. shows, and anchored the 4 p.m. newscast called First at 4, which she helped the station launch in September, 2020.

  • Launched a new show at the station, and the market's first 4 p.m. newscast called First at 4

  • Produces and anchors the 30-minute-show comprised of a news block, live interview segment and trending topics-social media portion

  • Utilizes sources to book live interviews related to timely, newsworthy topics

  • Increased viewership during the 4 p.m. hour

Sunday Anchor at WIFR 23 News Rockford, IL

  • Solo- produces and anchors the Sunday 10 p.m. newscast

  • Posts content to the station's website and social media pages

  • Brought the Sunday digital ratings to first place in the market

  • Report live in the field daily and in breaking news situations

  • Shoot, write, edit stories for on-air and web using Edius (also has knowledge using Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro)

  • Produces the noon newscast weekly

  • Updates morning show stories, finds new content and writes the noon show

Indiana University Bloomington

Courtney studied broadcast journalism and media advertising at The Media School at Indiana University, Bloomington. She took courses in production, reporting, editing, writing and online journalism in her two years at the school. Courtney graduated with a BA in media and a specialization in broadcast journalism and media advertising. Courtney was also the news director, multimedia journalist and anchor for the University's student television, as well as an anchor and multimedia journalist for IU NewsNet.

Grayslake Central High School

Courtney was in a public service class her senior year where she ran local food drives, organized breakfasts for veterans, ran backpack and school supply drives, directed the school talent show and many other school fundraiser activities. 

Courtney was the school's varsity cheerleading captain her sophomore year where she led the team to a 6th place finish at the Illinois State Competition. Along with two years of varsity cheerleading experience Courtney went on to compete in Allstar cheerleading and spent some time junior year running track for the JV team.

She also received an AP Scholar Award from the College Board.
